A 3-inch reduced pressure backflow preventer in Astoria was leaking.
What we found
The backflow preventer was corroded inside as well as leaking.
What we did
We replaced it with a new Watts RPZ assembly and tested it. On jobs like this, we assess the assembly and its connections when planning replacement. A reduced pressure zone assembly helps protect the water supply from backflow.
Result
The new Watts RPZ assembly was installed and tested.
